Sikkim National Law University (SNLU), established in 2018 by an Act No.05 of 2018 by the Government of Sikkim, to encourage the establishment of a national level institution of excellence in the field of legal education and research in the State. SNLU is a premier institution dedicated to providing top-quality legal education in the Himalayan region. Located in the serene and picturesque state of Sikkim, SNLU offers a conducive environment for students to nurture their legal acumen, explore new ideas, and embark on a successful career in the field of law.

Our Vision

At SNLU, we envision becoming a center of academic excellence that nurtures and promotes legal education with a focus on interdisciplinary and global perspectives. We strive to empower students with the knowledge and skills required to address contemporary legal challenges while promoting justice, equality, and human rights. We envision to promote legal awareness in the community for achieving social and economic justice, to undertake study and training projects relating to law, legislation and judicial institution.

Our Mission

Our mission is to impart legal education to all classes of society. SNLU specially offers scholarship programs and free legal education to people who are below poverty line and people who are underprivileged or not able to get education due to various reasons.
